What is .SU?
.su was assigned as the country code top-level domain for the Soviet Union on September 19, 1990. It remains in use today, even though the Soviet Union itself no longer exists, and is administered by the Russian Institute for Public Networks (RIPN, or RosNIIROS in Russian transcription).
Who is Register.su?
Register.su operates under Joint Stock Company «RU-CENTER» (Moscow, Russia) Partner Agreement. We currently renew already registered domain names in .su zone for flat fee: $29.95 per year.
Have you been impacted by current events in Europe?
Unfortunately, we have. We operate from New York and started to experience difficulties in March 2022. All new registrations and domain renewals (expired domains) have been suspended because USD payments are no longer accepted in Russia. However, current domain renewals are NOT affected. If you need to renew your .SU domain name today, please login to your account. If your domain name already expired, it will be deleted from registry. You won't be able to re-register.

Is it possible to renew current .SU domain name purchased via Register.SU?
Yes, it's possible. RU-CENTER has enough funds to cover all domain renewals until March 2026.
Is it possible to renew current (active) .SU domain name purchased via RU-CENTER?
Sorry, we cannot renew domain name purchased via RU-CENTER directly.
Is it possible to renew current (active) .SU domain name purchased via RU-CENTER Partner?

Is .SU domain name still supported globally?
Yes, it is. You can host .SU anywhere you wish.
My Thawte security certificate (SSL) installed on .SU domain failed to renew. What should I do?
Let's Encrypt certification center will continue to issue free Security Certificates to .SU and .RU domains. They will also renew SSL free of charge. Example of free SSL that we use: www.who.su (.SU domain whois).
Do you support redundant DNS hosting in Moscow, Russia?
For DNS hosting, you should select local DNS clusters. DNS servers located in Russia and provided by RU-CENTER. For single domain DNS, please select plan "S". You can create up to 75 custom DNS records (SPF, DKIM, A, MX, DMARC etc.) via web based control panel. If you have 2 or 3 domain names, please select plan "M". There you can add 3 .SU or .RU domain names and up to 225 DNS records. DNS are fully redundant and supported worldwide.
How about .RU domain names? My website cannot be reached!
Sorry, we do not register nor support .RU domain names. We support .SU domain names only. You should contact your web hosting provider. If your current web hosting provider refuses web hosting services, you should find local provider in Russia.
What is «Identification»
During registration of .SU domain names, registrar change, ownership transfer, or registration cancellation, as well as ID data change in the agreement, you will be required to submit to RU-CENTER:
For legal entities:
- a copy of the certificate about state registration of a legal entity issued by the state authorities;
For individuals and sole traders:
- a copy of the passport (personal details, issue authority and date, registration), or other ID, for example, US driver’s license.
Copies of the requested documents could be submitted to RU-CENTER via following channels:

- Regular mail to the Administrative Office (Address: 2/1, 3d Khoroshevskaya str., Moscow, 123308, Russian Federation) or RU-CENTER office: 74/4 Leningradsky prospekt, Moscow, 125315, Russian Federation.
Digital ID document copies can be submitted in .JPG, .PNG, .GIF, or .PDF formats. Attachment size should not exceed 10 MB. In all cases you will be required to specify your contract number(s) or domain name(s).
How long does it take to get verified?
It normally takes 1-2 business days.
When I try to upload copy of my passport at Ru-center, it says "Data doesn't coincide"
If you need to replace incorrect registrant information (certain fields, for example, "date of birth"), please download then fill this form: https://www.register.su/docs/org_to_change_data_non_resident.rtf. Then send it to us: [email protected]. We'll complete form (fields "Company", NIC-REG, signature, company seal and date will be filled by Register.su) then send it to Ru-center (Moscow, Russian Federation) via regular Postal mail (USPS). Please allow at least 2 weeks for delivery + 1-2 business days for verification.
How to avoid manual verification at RU-Center?
Please submit order on Register.su then send us copy of your drivers license or passport card. This will insure quick and easy verification process. Once again, in most cases verification process take only 2 business days.
Do I have to get myself verified at RU-Center?
Yes, as it written in domain registrant agreement: https://www.register.su/order/su-domain-agreement.html. However, your domain name will continue to work within registration period (12 months), regardless of verification. Renewals are possible 7-14 days prior domain expiration. Please note that unverified domain holders cannot transfer or sell domain name so it's important to get yourself verified as quickly as possible.
Why should I choose .su domain name?
While most domains are taken in other domain TLDs, many good domain names in .SU are still available. SU domains perform extremely well across major search engines (google, yahoo, bing etc), like any other keyword-names in other TLDs.

Do you accept credit cards? Paypal?
At this time we accept PayPal payments from verified PayPal members. Your can renew your existing .SU domain name here: manage.su
Is my order secure? Which information do you store?
All orders are being processed by PayPal via secure channels. Register.su stores registrant information (domain name, contact information and email addresses). We don't store: billing data and user/passwords to domain control panel. We also don't store any search domain queries. While we love cookies, we don't use them on our website.
Do you provide refunds?
Sorry, all sales are final. Please select domain name carefully. If your domain name was not registered (see whois), please contact Register.su via email: [email protected]. We'll process full refund within 5 business days.
How would I know when to renew? How much would it cost?
We will send you few reminders prior renewal (60 days, 30 days, 1 day). Renewals will cost $29.95 per year per domain name. We do accept automatic PayPal subscriptions.
Can I register more than 1 domain name?
Sorry, we do not offer domain registrations at this time.
Do you protect customer data? Is it secure to submit an order via register.su?
All orders are being processed via 256 bit SSL (secured layer) from Let's Encrypt Authority. Registrations are being handled by «RU-CENTER» and protected by international laws. Customer data is private. Payments are handled securely by PayPal®. We do not store any credit or debit cards on our servers.
Is it possible to hide contact (whois privacy)? How much would it cost?
All .SU domain registrations are private by default. Domain privacy is free of charge.
My website isn't ready. Can I park newly registered su domain name?
Free parking service is included with any domain name purchased through Register.su.
Where can I check SU domain name expiration / availability (whois)?

Do you provide additional services, like webmail, DNS (name servers) etc?
Sorry, we do not offer web hosting services. However, we offer reliable DNS hosting service in Moscow, Russia.
Can I register my own name servers within .su TLD?
Certainly! You can register own name servers like ns1.register.su and ns2.register.su (up to 6 name servers). You can do so within RU-Center control panel: https://www.nic.ru/en/manager/
Where can I host my .su domain name?
You can host it anywhere you wish. .SU TLD is supported anywhere in the world.
